The Role

The Infrastructure & Systems Specialist is a visionary expert and technical leader responsible for shaping the architectural direction of our IT infrastructure. You will be the primary authority on servers, virtualization, storage, and backup environments, acting as the L3/L4 escalation point for critical incidents and providing strategic advisory support to clients. This role requires not only deep technical expertise but also the ability to think strategically and translate business goals into scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure architectures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of secure and resilient multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures aligned with business and compliance requirements.

  • Serve as the technical lead and escalation point for all cloud-related incidents and problems, providing advanced L3/L4 support.

  • Drive automation initiatives across the organization using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, Ansible) to streamline operations.

  • Oversee and implement advanced cloud capabilities, including Kubernetes clusters, serverless functions, and data platforms.

  • Lead FinOps practices, providing strategic guidance on cost optimization and resource efficiency.

  • Act as a technical leader, mentoring Cloud Engineers and Infrastructure staff, and providing strategic recommendations to client stakeholders.

  • Ensure continuous improvement in the cloud environment through proactive monitoring, performance tuning, and compliance enforcement.

  • Independently design, deploy, and manage secure and resilient cloud environments on one or more platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).

  • Lead the implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.

  • Provide advanced L3 support for escalated cloud incidents, performing root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing long-term solutions.

  • Oversee and optimize cloud operations, including monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning.

  • Contribute to FinOps initiatives by identifying and implementing cost optimization strategies.

  • Mentor junior engineers, conduct code/IaC reviews, and provide technical guidance.

  • Ensure all cloud solutions comply with security policies and regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience.

  • Deep, proven expertise in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Linux, and virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V).

  • Strong hands-on experience with backup & recovery platforms (e.g., Veeam, Veritas NetBackup) and DR solutions.

  • Expertise in storage and SAN/NAS administration.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation and scripting (PowerShell, Ansible, Python).

  • Relevant professional certifications are highly preferred (e.g., VCP-DCV, MCSE, RHCSA/RHCE).

  • Expert-level mastery of Google Workspace applied to project leadership; able to orchestrate collaborative workstreams, synthesize complex data, and prepare client deliverables at executive standard.

  • Strong collaboration skills in shared digital environments.
