The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior/Associate Network Security Specialist to join our team. An independent and skilled professional responsible for the implementation and management of complex network security solutions. You will be a go-to expert for your peers, capable of handling challenging tasks from end-to-end and mentoring junior engineers. This role requires a strong technical foundation, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to drive projects forward with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and optimize security devices such as enterprise firewalls, proxies, and security appliances (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco, Check Point).

  • Lead incident response efforts for network-borne threats, including containment and remediation.

  • Design and implement network segmentation, VPN connectivity, and secure hybrid cloud solutions.

  • Conduct packet-level analysis and traffic forensics using tools like Wireshark and NetFlow to troubleshoot complex security issues.

  • Perform regular security performance tuning, firewall rule optimization, and IPS signature tuning.

  • Mentor junior engineers, conduct code/policy reviews, and provide technical guidance.

  • Ensure all network security configurations and operations align with industry standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST CSF).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

  • 2–4 years of relevant professional experience.

  • Proven experience as a Network Security Specialist with hands-on expertise in firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.

  • Strong knowledge of routing/switching protocols and their interaction with security layers.

  • Experience with cloud network security (Azure NSG/Firewall, AWS Security Groups/WAF).

  • Relevant professional certifications are a plus (e.g., CCNP Security, Palo Alto PCNSE).

  • Professional-level proficiency in creating structured reports, presentations, and collaborative analysis using Google Workspace.

  • Strong collaboration skills in shared digital environments.
